The Former Auto-Tractor Plant in Shkozë will be transformed into a Modern Production Center for Military Uniforms and Armored Vehicle Assembly.

This project was introduced in the presence of the Prime Minister, Mr. Edi Rama, Minister of Defense, Mr. Pirro Vengu, and Minister of the Interior, Mr. Ervin Hoxha. The project will be implemented by the company KAYO SH.A., state-owned by the Ministry of Defense, in collaboration with international companies and local entrepreneurs. This initiative is part of a national development strategy that also includes other areas such as Rubik, where artillery systems and military drones will be built; Vlora, with the Academy of an Aviation School and a Naval Shipyard; Gramsh and Poliçan for the production of weapons and ammunition; as well as Mjekës, which will focus on specialized ammunition capacities.

KAYO sh.a. is currently in negotiations with the company TIMAK for a new partnership under the Military Industry Law, aiming to meet the needs of the Armed Forces, State Police, Civil Emergencies, and Medical Services. This project is expected to bring direct economic benefits to the country by generating jobs and promoting development in local communities. Beyond its strategic importance for national security and industrial growth, the investment is expected to revitalize an area of over 45 square meters in Shkozë, turning it into a key hub for the military industry in Tirana. The project is projected to create over 200 new jobs for local residents.
