It was signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with KAYO, as part of the intergovernmental summit between Italy and Albania in Rome, chaired by Italian Prime Minister Ms. Giorgia Meloni and Albanian Prime Minister Mr. Edi Rama, marking a new milestone in the collaboration between our two countries, in the presence of our CEO, Mr. Pierroberto Folgiero, and Mr. Ardi Veliu, CEO of KAYO. We aim to combine our expertise and resources to establish a joint venture dedicated to the construction and maintenance of naval vessels in Albania, strengthening the military naval supply chain and fostering economic and infrastructural development.
The agreement provides for the creation of a JV that will act as prime contractor for shipbuilding and maintenance contracts in the Albanian market. For projects intended for export – for which we will serve as prime contractor by entrusting the JV with the construction of the ships – the JV will be able to build vessels up to 80 meters in length and 800 tons in displacement.
Thanks to this MoU, which will see KAYO make the Pashaliman shipyard in Vlora available and invest in its infrastructure upgrade, we are bringing new prospects for international growth on board, supporting the modernization of the production process, providing operational expertise, training and engineering know-how, as well as providing material packages, consolidating our role as a strategic reference partner.
